OUR SERVICE TO BUSINESSES IN SOUTH EAST ENGLAND

EnviroBusiness is proud to work in partnership with the South East England Development Agency to deliver the Regional Economic Strategy for South East England to 2016. This sets ambitious targets for the region’s environmental industry sector with in particular the goal of South East England becoming recognised as a global leader in the delivery of environmental technologies, products and services. EnviroBusiness is working strategically with SEEDA and other partners to achieve these goals.

ACHIEVING GLOBAL LEADERSHIP IN ENVIRONMENTAL MARKETS

SEEDA has invested £2.4M over the period 2009-11 to provide intensive assistance to the highest potential businesses.  This package of support is being coordinated by EnviroBusiness under the following streams of activity:

1. Global Markets Intelligence
Companies will have access to top quality information to help target their activities most effectively.

What this involves

  • Identifying the key global markets where demand for specific technologies, products and services is greatest
  • Providing actionable information and intelligence
  • Monitoring the performance of the South East environmental industry sector

The work will be carried out by Knowledge Matrix Ltd, a specialist economic research consultancy with experience in this area.

2. Strategic International Sales
Companies will get high quality and intensive assistance to help them win new sales overseas.

What this involves

  • Helping South East businesses to identify and engage with global market opportunities
  • Making sure businesses are aware and take advantage of all the support available
  • Providing assistance with the sales process
  • Facilitating relationships in target markets

The work will be delivered by PERA International, an expert organisation experienced in helping UK businesses trade internationally.  We will work with UK Trade & Investment and others to provide a clear package of support to businesses.

3. International Innovation
Companies will get high impact support to help them bring new innovations to market at a global level.

What this involves

  • Helping South East businesses develop world beating technologies, products and services by undertaking Research, Development & Demonstration activities
  • Identifying and exploiting sources of support & funding
  • Building collaborations between businesses, supply chain partners, research organisations and potential end users and customers
  • Building relationships in target end markets globally to demonstrate new technology

The work will be delivered by PERA International, an expert organisation experienced in helping UK businesses to commercialise new innovations. We will work with SEEDA, the Technology Strategy Board, the Carbon Trust and other innovation sponsors and funders to provide a clear package of support to businesses.

4. Building Expertise In Wind & Marine Renewables
Companies will get accelerated access to new business opportunities in the wind & marine renewables sector. We will create a globally competitive market for wind and marine renewables solutions.

What this involves

  • Identifying opportunities for South East companies to supply new wind & marine renewable energy markets
  • Helping these businesses to get involved with these opportunities in the South East and internationally
  • Creating supply chains and clusters of businesses capable of achieving international competitiveness
  • Identifying opportunities to create new businesses serving marine energy markets through R,D&D
  • Working with inward investment agencies and other South East England stakeholders to attract new business investment and maximise the economic and environmental value of wind and marine energy to the economy of South East England.

The work will be delivered by BVG Associates, a leading provider of business services in the renewable energy sectors. We will coordinate and work with public and private sector stakeholders to maximise the benefits to all.

5. Market Pull
New demand will be created for businesses and the environmental impact of the region will be reduced.

What this involves

  • Creating demand for environmental technologies, services and products within South East England
  • Working in partnership with public sector organisations and other stakeholders to initiate projects to unlock demand at a sub-regional level
  • Replicating good practices to increase impact
  • Creating opportunities for businesses within South East England whilst reducing the environmental impact of the region

EnviroBusiness will lead this activity, working with SEEDA and other public sector organisations.

6. Global Readiness
Businesses will benefit from optimised access to public support and regional business support.

What this involves

  • Optimising the access of businesses supplying environmental technologies, services and products to publically funded business support
  • Working with providers of business support to ensure their offer is aligned to the needs of business

EnviroBusiness will lead this activity, working with SEEDA and other public sector organisations.

EnviroBusiness has a special affinity to the South East of England where we were established in 2005 to assist the South East England Development Agency to engage with the environmental industry sector.

We are proud to continue to work in partnership with the South East England Development Agency to provide special support to businesses in the South East of England capable of serving global environmental markets. We provide strategic input to SEEDA and other governmental organisations in South East England to help them understand the needs of environmental industries and to design and target their activities to support them.
In particular, over the period to June 2011 we will be working, on behalf of SEEDA, to intensively assist of businesses to:

  • Secure a greater share of global markets
  • Develop new world beating products
  • Develop supply chain strength in marine energy

We are developing partnerships with clusters of public sector organisations within the South East to help them identify opportunities to develop their own environmental infrastructure and to undertake local environmental enterprise initiatives.

We collaborate with providers of business support services, such as UK Trade & Investment, the Waste & Resources Action Programme and the Carbon Trust, to optimise access to their services by South East businesses.
