Grants to grow your recycling and reprocessing capacity

Grants will be award competively, with each application assessed for:
· Relative to the amount of grant support requested, the amount of:
> Waste diverted from landfill;
>Virgin raw materials saved;
>Cost savings to business;
· The innovation and ambition of the project;
· The co-investment level of the applicant;
· The need of the grant fund to make the investment financially viable, i.e. not self-financeable;
· The viability of the proposed investment.
These grants are financed by SEEDA, the South East England Development Agency, and eligible equipment must be operated in the South East England as defined at http://www.seeda.co.uk/Contact_Us/Locations/.
This initiative is being coordinated with WRAP and other providers of support for recycling businesses.

1 The economic region of South East England covers the county and unitary authority areas of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex. The region includes 12 unitary authorities and 55 district/borough councils.
2 Investments eligible for support must create new, increased or expanded capacity to: reprocess materials; sort or transfer materials; or process organic matter (excluding windrow composting).
3 In exceptional circumstances for projects investing c.£1m or more, a larger grant may be considered.
