Opportunities for EnviroBusiness Members to Solve Business Problems

We have corporate contacts that are looking for innovative solutions regarding environmental technologies and services. As part of the EnviroBusiness network your company may be in a position to provide solutions, increase your sales and develop a strong market presence.

M&S is looking to source market-ready solutions in the following areas:

  • Electric vehicle and associated infrastructure
  • Environmentally friendly refrigerants to meet forthcoming F-Gas regulations
  • Sustainable textiles: particularly small-scale recycling of textiles
  • Energy efficient air conditioning
  • Low energy lighting for food manufacturers

If your company has developed solutions in any of the above areas, join the EnviroBusiness network and contact us at info@envirobusiness.co.uk.

Sensing technology sought by major energy company
In order for greater operational integrity and safety to be achieved, new types of sensors are required for detection of in-pipe gas mixtures at temperature and pressure, measurement of gas evolution within a solids gasifier, and wind turbine diagnostics.

Opportunities exist for: deployment of demonstration equipment and integration of solutions into operations of global activity.

Algae-based biofuels solutions required
The company is looking for techniques for growing algae in a controlled manner, harvesting algae, extracting lipids from the algae and extracting oil from lipids. Such solutions must be capable of scaling and continuous operation.

Improvements sought for water and effluent treatment in biofuel production process
The consumption and production of water by upstream activities and downstream biofuels is substantial. Additionally, access to plentiful supplies of clean water is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive and the consent conditions for the Discharge of Effluent are becoming increasingly stringent.

Opportunities exist for:
Techniques are required for recovering water and materials from effluent streams and cleaning the water to a level matching process requirements plus separating or concentrating solids for re-cycling or disposal.

Techniques must be compatible with process conditions; pressure, temperature, volume and not add significantly to the energy demand (electrical or thermal).

Nanotechnology solutions
Opportunities exist for: a variety of nanotechnology.

  • Catalysts – breakdown of long chain molecules or reactive surface for chemical changes
  • Storage – selective absorption or gaseous species with low energy desorption
  • Solar – concentration of sunlight or reactive surface for solar chemicals production
  • Filters – cleaning of liquid and gaseous streams

Applications should be at laboratory demonstration scale as a minimum and have a clear development path to scale up.

If you think you may be able to help in the above areas and would more information, join the EnviroBusiness network and contact EnviroBusiness at info@envirobusiness.co.uk.
